Sierra moments fishing adventures

What about knot?
I’ve been fishing the Eastern Sierra for over fifty years from Kern River to Sonora Pass, and mostly within Mono County the past seven years since moving to June Lake. Over the years, I've discovered some truly beautiful locations that offer a variety of fishing methods.. Whether it's boat and bait fishing the June Lake Loop lakes for Rainbows), fly and/or lure fishing the Owens River for Browns, Rainbows, and Cutthroats, or a day hike into backcountry lakes and creeks for Brooks and Browns, I'm excited to pass along what I've learned. And one of those things is to remember that it’s not always about the fishing, but also the scenery, the people you’re with, and a chance to create your own “Sierra Moment”!
You may be wondering how I got myself into all of this? After years and years of taking my family and friends out, I found myself in the Lower Owens River fishing for Wild Trout when a crazy idea pops into my noggin'—why don’t I get set up as a fishing guide. The more I thought about it, the more I said to myself, Yeah! Do it! So... I did it! So many of the folks that come up here, in particular young families, just want to catch a fish, but have no gear or experience. Being able to have a family friendly guide service where I can pass along my passion and the fun of fishing is a big motivation for me.
It’s worked out pretty well so far. I've seen the smiles of kids after catching their first fish ever and the excitement after a Mom, Dad, Sister and Brother all caught their first Wild Trout on a fly rod. And I've also witnessed the calming joy that comes while soaking in all the Eastern Sierra has to offer.
So come up and join me and remember…….
“There’s hope in every cast!”
